Starting September 23, Saudi Arabia’s budget airline, Flyadeal will be used for commercial purposes. And it comes just in time for the celebrations for Saudi National Day.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued the airline with an air operator certificate (AOC) recently. The AOC requires operators to have personnel, assets and systems in place that ensure the safety of its employees and the general public.

The addition of Flyadeal to the Saudi aviation market will help meet the growing demand for cheap and affordable travel in the region, offering customers more choice. It will further help with the Kingdom’s move to an economy less dependent on oil revenue.
The Chairman of Flyadeal and Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation thanked GACA for their professionalism and the steadfast support of their team of inspectors.
The airline will start offering domestic routes before expanding to the Middle East later on. Flyadeal will operate a fleet of eight Airbus A320 aircrafts to begin with.
