Souq, the Amazon-owned online retailer, has launched the ‘Amazon Global Store’ in Saudi Arabia.
That means users of souq.com in KSA will be able to buy around one million items listed on the Amazon US store. Presumably, you’ll pay similar prices to US Amazon users and the shipping charges will be reasonable. Amongst the items on offer are clothes, handbags, shoes, watches, kitchen items and home goods.
“We are excited about making over one million popular products from Amazon available on Souq.com to customers,” said Saleem Hammad, general manager KSA, Souq.com.
“This brings global selection closer to our customers in the region, and we will continue to grow this further.”
The rollout of Amazon Global Store in KSA follows its introduction in the UAE at the tail end of last year and noon.com’s recent tieup with eBay, which lets noon customers buy products listed on the US version of the eBay site.
