Eid Al Fitr is one of the most important religious holidays as it marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Its name literally translates to ‘Festival of Breaking of the Fast’.

This year for Eid, Meydan Hotels invites guests to celebrate Eid at two of its locations. Bab Al Shams is in the heart of the desert and the hotel is surrounded by the dunes of Dubai and you can choose from three restaurants to spend your weekend celebrating.
One of the restaurants has a family-friendly Eid brunch, which is available during the second and third day of Eid Al Fitr at Al Forsan restaurant, and although it is slightly expensive for AED 275 per person, you will be dining with a five-star backdrop. Still, children between 5 and 12 get a 50% discount and if you have children below the age of four they will dine for free.
If you don’t feel like travelling far to celebrate Eid, then Farriers restaurant in Meydan Hotel, Nad al Sheba, will erect a tent for the three days of Eid Al Ftir. On the first day of Eid you can expect a lunch buffet with free water and soft drinks for AED 180 followed by an Arabian nights-themed dinner. The dinner is priced slightly higher at AED 220 per person, however there will be a band and dancer to keep you entertained during your meal. For the second and third days of Eid, there will be a lavish Eid brunch for AED 290 – it is more expensive, but if you want to celebrate the festive season in style then it’s worth checking out. And in the tent, there will be a dedicated play area for children so everyone can be entertained.

The fireworks at The Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence happen every year to mark the end of Ramadan, and each year they get bigger and better. Head down to the beach to “ooh” and “aah” at the display during the three days of Eid celebrations with family and friends, and the best thing is that it’s free.
This year, BurJuman will be celebrating four days of Eid with a variety of activities and performances set to entertain and delight the entire family. There will be an activation area where you can have your hands adorned in beautiful, traditional henna design, an Arabic calligraphy stand, and, for the little ones, face painting, pottery and lantern decorations. BurJuman will also play host to performances from an Oud player, Tanoura and Bangra dancers every night during Eid. During the festivities, if you decide to go shopping and spend more than AED 200 you will be eligible to enter a draw to win AED 250,000 in cash and luxury gifts.
Based across six halls in the Dubai World Trade Centre, this is the perfect place to escape the summer heat. Modhesh World becomes a hub for families during Eid, as each year it promises to entertain adults and children. It will run from June 20 to August 12 so there is plenty of time to head down there with your family. Tickets are priced at AED 20 per person (adults and children) and entry is free for kids under the age of two. This year there will be new and exciting attractions with ‘edutainment’ workshops and seminars for the whole family, along with a new food park. There will be over 150 attractions for everyone in the family with a haunted house, petting farm, bungee trampoline, Fly Jump and a dinosaur park along with many more. There are hours of fun to be had all through summer.
Rixos, The Palm Jumeirah
Rixos wants to treat you this holiday with promotional spa packages for both men and women. The promotional package for ladies is an 85-minute slimming and wellness package that involves a full body mask using the elements of the coast, leaving you re-booted and ready for the busy three days of Eid. The men won’t be left out of feeling pampered with a 90-minute Turkish hammam ritual and foot reflexology along with a facial. You will also get complimentary access to the swimming pool as well as the hotel’s private beach. Although both packages are priced at AED 490, usually you would have to pay AED 1,390 for each, so you’re actually saving a significant amount if you visit the spa during Eid.
