The UAE government has announced public sector holidays for the upcoming Eid Al Adha.

According to a statement released earlier today, public sector workers will be on holiday from Thursday, August 31, to Sunday, September 3, for Eid Al Adha this year. Government workers will resume work on Monday, September 4.

There’s no word yet on the days off that private sector workers will get. However, the Saudi Supreme Court confirmed earlier this week that Eid Al Adha will fall on Friday, September 1, with Arafat Day falling on the Thursday before that. Given that information, it would make sense if the private-sector holiday fell on Thursday, August 31, but we’ll have to wait for an official announcement.

The UAE’s announcement comes a week after an announcement in Saudi Arabia that said public sector workers would be off from Thursday, August 24, until Sunday, September 10, for Eid Al Adha. Though again, there’s been no announcement so far on private sector holidays in the Kingdom.
