It’s Now Cheaper To Buy Air Miles With Emirates

Emirates flight deals

Buying air miles has just gotten more attractive with Emirates, which just announced a whole lot of changes to its Skywards frequent flyer programme.

Air miles. You can earn them a bunch of different ways in the UAE. Taking loads of flights is an obvious one – as is using an air miles credit card. But plenty of people also buy them.

The problem with this strategy is that air miles tend to be pretty expensive to buy – often negating the point of them in the first place. After all, most people only want air miles to get cheaper flights, so why waste money on miles when you can put that cash towards an upgrade?

Except buying air miles has just gotten more attractive with Emirates, which just announced a whole lot of changes to its Skywards frequent flyer programme.

For starters, air miles are now cheaper. You can now pick up 1,000 miles for USD 30. The same rate applies to miles that you want to buy for friends and family, too.

It’s also cheaper to transfer miles now – that’ll cost you USD 15 per 1,000 miles. And along with making miles cheaper, Emirates has made it so that you can buy and transfer more of them. Skywards members can now purchase up to 100,000 miles a year, and transfer up to 50,000 miles a year.

Plus, you can now reinstate expired miles, so long as they’ve only expired for six months or less. That’ll cost you USD 20 per 1,000 Miles.
