If you’re looking to take advantage of a cheap getaway in the next few months, you might want to take a look at the sales currently being offered by the UAE’s two major airlines.
But you’ll have to act quickly. Etihad Airways currently has a sale on select air fares until October 31, while Emirates is offering discounted fares until November 6. Etihad’s discounted rates are for tickets for travel between 15 Janurary, 2017, and 30 June, 2017, while Emirates’ promoted tickets are for travel between October this year and March, 2017.
How much of a discount will you get? Well, with Etihad, fares are starting from as low AED 770 for economy travel between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai. But there are also great deals if you’re travelling further afield – you can grab a ticket from Abu Dhabi to Manil for just AED 1,490, or from Abu Dhabi to London for AED 2,030.
Likewise, the sale does wonders for travelers looking to fly business class. Etihad is currently doing a business class deal for Abu Dhabi to Denpasar, Bali, for AED 6,320. And if you’re travelling to Manila, you’ll only have to shell out AED 5,510 for a business class seat.

Emirates, meanwhile, also has some pretty compelling offers at the moment, particularly if you’re looking to travel really far. One of the highlights is an economy class ticket from Dubai to Boston for AED 4,330. That may sound like a lot on its own, but remember that’s a long flight, and tickets to the United States often cost significantly more. It’s the same story with Emirates’ Dubai-Buenos Aires offer, which costs AED 6,050 for economy class.
What’s more, the new Dubai-Fort Lauderdale route, available from mid-December, is currently going for AED 3,330 – though with this one, you only have seven days left to take advantage of the low price.
Emirates’ business class promotions are less compelling, with most still costing above AED 20,000. Still, if you’re used to flying business, you’ll note there are some savings to be had in the current sale.
