Events Taking Place in Dubai Summer’19


Dubai is known worldwide for its glitz and glamour but the metropolitan city has a lot to offer from the best in sight-seeing to shopping to amusement parks and events. The city is among the top destinations in the world for tourists throughout the year but the summer is especially joyful as you forget about the heat and explore one of the most diverse and unique spaces in the world.


Music enthusiasts and boy band fans get to experience the fervor of the 2000s pop scene during Westlife’s live concert at the newly-inaugurated Coca Cola Arena on August 29. To celebrate over 20 years of success, the 4-man Irish boy band will set hearts alight with a trip down memory lane by performing hits like ‘My Love’ and ‘Flying Without Wings’.


Dubai Opera film festival 

For die-hard Disney enthusiasts, the Dubai Opera will host its first ever Disney Film Festival from August 15 to 30. The state-of-the-art venue will showcase 48 film classics like the Little Mermaid and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids to newer releases like Ratatouille and Moana. So take a trip down memory lane and sing along to  your favorite tunes in Downtown Dubai this summer.

Eid Al Adha Fireworks

The city celebrates the annual Eid Al Adha festival or ‘festival of sacrifice’ this year with an awe-inspiring fireworks, water and lights event from August 12 to 15.  In a first-of-its-kind event, a synchronizing choreography of fire, water and laser can thrill the whole family at the Dubai Festival City Mall. Early visitors can grab a front-row seat for the show at Festival Bay while others can choose to enjoy a meal at one the mall’s many waterfront restaurants.

People of all ages can sing their hearts out to the catchy music of English pop band during their live concert at the prestigious new Coca-Cola Arena on August 14. The world famous band will be performing in Dubai for the first time and are a favorite among the millennial crowd, with hits like “Chocolate” and “Robbers” but older generations could also love their more Indie, electro and rock vibes.

Laff Trip

If comedy is your go-to form of entertainment then you laugh to your hearts content at the Laff Trip, an evening to showcase top emerging international comics such as FST and Real Warri Pikin at the Novotel Hotel on August 2. Indulge in a dynamic night of comedy skits and observations, which begins with a premium red carpet event at 6pm followed by the performances at 7pm.
