Suzuki has issued a recall for two of its models in the UAE, a statement from the Japanese carmaker and its UAE dealer, Al Rostamani, said this week.
The models in question are the Suzuki Celerio (2009 to 2010 model years), and the Grand Vitara 2.4 (2008 to 2010 model years).

The statement said that the Celerio may have a mis-arranged wing harness that could, through various resultant faults, prevent the car’s automatic transmission from changing out of the park position.
As for the Vitara, the statement said that an internal spring of the belt tension adjuster was manufactured improperly. That may sound like a lot of technical mumbo-jumbo, but basically, if unchecked, the fault means that, in the worst case, the fault will disable the car’s power steering. It’s not the end of the world, of course, but it will make the car much more difficult to steer.
Either way, you won’t have to suffer the fault for long if your car is affected. Al Rostamani is issuing a recall campaign that will see it contact owners of these models and replace the faulty parts if needed. Naturally, that service will come free of charge.
And if you’re worried that your Suzuki is affected, but you haven’t received a call, you can contact Al Rostamani on 04 295 5907.
