Dubai Police have announced that Dubai experienced 110 traffic accidents as a result of the adverse weather conditions this Thursday.
3,385 emergency calls were made to Dubai Police between 10am on Wednesday 27th March 2019 and 12pm on Thursday 28th March 2019.
Colonel Turki bin Fares, director of Command and Control Centre at Dubai Police, said “We have urged motorists to keep a safe distance between cars and adjust their speed to the weather conditions. They are also advised to allow extra time for their journey and check their planned route. It’s also highly advisable to slow down as rain makes roads slippery,”
“People should follow safety instructions and regulation to avoid any accidents,” he added.
As a result, Dubai Police have heightened their level of readiness in mountainous areas and flooding hot spots. Furthermore, they have advised motorists not to use their cars and other vehicles across desert areas, particularly during and after the rain.
