UAE Respects the Disabled & Gives Them Recognition

UAE government gives special recognition and respect to the differently-abled

The steps taken by the UAE government in an attempt to uplift their disabled citizens is an eye-opener for the entire human race.

The UAE government has now christened their disabled citizens as ‘people of determination,’ thereby taking the first step towards extending hope, acceptance, honor, and respect to the physically-challenged section of their population.

The Prime Minister of UAE has even launched a special program called ‘National Strategy for Empowering People with Disabilities’ during a visit to the Ministry of Community Development. An establishment of an advisory board for the disabled was also announced by the Deputy Ruler of Dubai who even confirmed that disabled people who stand responsible for services at organizations would be called ‘services officers or people of determination.’

As quoted by Sheikh Mohammed, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai,

“Disability is in fact the inability to make progress and achievements. The achievements that people of determination have made in various spheres over the past years are proof that determination and strong will can do the impossible and encourage people to counter challenges and difficult circumstances while firmly achieving their goals.”

He has even announced the designation of a responsible person in every service-related organization for taking charge of facilitating the service for disabled people.

In UAE, the National Strategy for Empowering People with disabilities stands on six pillars:

  • Education
  • Health and rehabilitation
  • Vocational rehabilitation and employment
  • Social protection and family empowerment
  • Mobility
  • Public life, social and sports life

Last, but not least, the national policy in UAE has also been named by the people of determination so as to recognize their incessant monumental efforts in making breakthrough achievements in various fields and overcoming the various challenges. So, Kudos! To the UAE government for bringing in a ray of hope and a sense of achievement amongst those who feel betrayed by God for not being physically fit.
