This is the 2019 Hyundai Accent, and it\u2019ll be available in the UAE in the next couple of months.<\/p>\n

Yep, we know, we do spoil you.<\/p>\n

The thing is, if we know anything about Dubai and the UAE, it\u2019s the small, cheap and reliable cars are incredible popular here. You may not aspire to owning one, but there\u2019s a decent chance you\u2019ll look at the price of one and think to yourself, \u201cWow, that\u2019s actually a pretty good deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what Hyundai is banking on with the new Accent, at least.<\/p>\n

This is an all-new model, the fifth generation of the car that helped Hyundai build a brand to rival the likes of Toyota and Nissan. It\u2019s longer and wider than the last-gen Accent, meaning better interior space and better safety.<\/p>\n

There are two new four-cylinder engines to choose from. The first, 1.4-litre, develops 100 bhp, while a 1.6-litre will offer 123 bhp. Both, Hyundai says, are \u201cadvanced designs, with multi-point fuel injection\u201d. You can have either engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, or else a six-speed automatic. Because this is the Middle East, you\u2019ll naturally be opting for the auto\u2019.<\/p>\n

Inside, Hyundai promises a \u201cwell-appointed interior\u201d that offers comfort and quietness on the move. There\u2019s a small infotainment screen that comes with \u201ceasy and intuitive\u201d controls, and a whole bunch of safety tech. There are six airbags, there\u2019s automatic traction control, and you get automatic bending headlights and cruise control.<\/p>\n

Hyundai hasn\u2019t released any pricing information yet, but we wouldn\u2019t be surprised to see the new Accent costing about the same as the old one \u2013 so starting at around AED 44,000. That\u2019s a pretty good price for what should be a decent amount of car.<\/p>\n
