Dodge has updated its range of Challengers. There are new, four-wheel-drive models, plus a revised pricing structure. But the big news comes with the new Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, which is now the world\u2019s fastest production muscle car.<\/p>\n

Here are the headlines: The Hellcat Redeye borrows the Challenger SRT Demon\u2019s supercharged 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8, but here it\u2019s making 797 bhp, rather than the 840 bhp found in the Demon.<\/p>\n

Still, that\u2019s enough for the Redeye to get from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and go on to top speed of 203 mph (about 325 km\/h). And it\u2019ll do the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds<\/p>\n

And yes, we can hear you at the back \u2013 the Demon was faster than the Redeye. But sadly, Dodge no longer makes the Challenger SRT Demon, meaning the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is now the world\u2019s fastest production muscle car. Nothing else really comes close.<\/p>\n

If it all sounds a bit much for you, Dodge will still sell you a \u2018standard\u2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat, but even that\u2019s had a power bump. Its HEMI V8 now develops 717 bhp and 656 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, it\u2019ll give you a top speed of \u2018only\u2019 320 km\/h. On the plus side, it\u2019s now $5,000 cheaper in the US, starting at $58,650. We\u2019d expect those prices to be largely on par with the prices we see in the UAE.<\/p>\n

The rest of the Challenger range has been updated, too. Four-wheel drive is now available on the entry-level SXT<\/a> and GT cars, both powered by a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 developing 305 bhp. And the R\/T model<\/a>, with a 375 bhp HEMI V8, comes with the power-bulge aluminum hood with heat extractors formerly featured on the Challenger SRT Hellcat. What\u2019s more, Challenger R\/T and GT RWD models get high-performance suspension as standard.<\/p>\n

Oh, and if you want more bang for your buck, you can opt for the Challenger R\/T Scat Pack, which will get you a 6.2-litre V8 developing 485 bhp (the same engine found in the higher-end Dodge Challenger SRT 392<\/a>), but will only cost you around $40,000.<\/p>\n

Obviously, though, what you really want is the Redeye.<\/p>\n
