Good news, classic car fans! The Aston Martin<\/a> DB5 is set for a new limited production run in special Goldfinger<\/em> guise. This means you could conceivably own one of James Bond\u2019s most famous cars.<\/p>\n

Well, provided you have AED 13.15 million (plus taxes) to spare. Yep, Aston Martin is recreating the famous DB5 from the Goldfinger<\/em> film \u2013 gadgets and all \u2013 and is selling it as the ultimate collector\u2019s item for James Bond fans.<\/p>\n

And it really is just a collector\u2019s item. According to Aston Martin, none of the 25 that are being produced will be road legal. We\u2019re assuming that this will be down to the fact that these DB5s will be so full of wondrous James Bond gadgets that they wouldn\u2019t be safe on public roads.<\/p>\n

What gadgets, you ask? So far, Aston Martin is playing that one close to the chest, but it said that the revolving number plates will definitely be included. For the others, Aston Martin has partnered with Oscar-winner Chris Corbould, special effects supervisor from the James Bond films. Here\u2019s hoping there\u2019s an ejector seat.<\/p>\n

What else is this car about? Well, you can only specify it in one colour \u2013 the same Silver Birch that was seen on the original in Goldfinger<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It may be a multi-million-dirham toy, but you know you want one. Since it first appeared in Goldfinger<\/em> the Aston Martin DB5 has featured in a further six James Bond movies. It was in Thunderball<\/em> (1965), GoldenEye<\/em> (1995), and Tomorrow Never Dies<\/em> (1997). It\u2019s also been in three of the Daniel Craig films – Casino Royale<\/em> (2006), Skyfall<\/em> (2012) and Spectre<\/em> (2015).<\/p>\n

On top of the regular production run of 25 cars, Aston Martin is building three more Goldfinger DB5s \u2013 one for itself, one for EON Productions (which produces the James Bond films and has partnered with Aston Martin for the project), and one for auction.<\/p>\n

Deliveries of this Aston Martin DB5 will begin at the end of 2019.<\/p>\n
