This is not a drill. A new Bugatti hypercar is going to be announced next month. We repeat, this is not a drill.

We don’t know much about this new car, except that it’ll be called the Bugatti Divo. Its name comes from Albert Divo, a French racing driver who won the Targa Florio race twice in the 1920s.

All we’ve been given by Bugatti is this one teaser picture, and an idea of what the Divo will be about. While the Chiron, Bugatti’s current flagship (and the fastest production car in the world), is all about outright speed, the Divo will apparently be guided by a handling-based approach.

Bugatti promises lightweight construction and higher downforce, which it says will offer “significantly better handling properties”.

We can’t imagine the Divo will be particularly slow, though.

Anyway, obviously you’re going to want one. But there are two problems with that. One, production is being limited to just 40 examples. And two, it’ll cost a cool EUR 5 million – that’s about AED 21.4 million, and over twice the price of the Chiron.

Still, we can’t wait to see the Divo when it’s unveiled at the end of August. It’ll be on show at “The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering” in California, USA.
