It wasn’t so long ago that Jaguar unveiled the F-Pace SVR, a crazy take on the sensible F-Pace crossover that’s powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 developing 542 bhp.

Now, with a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds, no-one could accuse the F-Pace SVR of being slow. But according to Jaguar tuning specialist Lister, there’s still room for improvement.

Which is why the company just teased a photo of the Lister F-Pace SVR. The photo doesn’t reveal much, but there’s clearly a new bumper design and some added aero. We reckon that’ll be there to aid in downforce when the Lister F-Pace is doing silly speeds.

Which is will be doing, because Lister has said that, with this car, it wants to create the world’s fastest SUV.

That’s quite a tall order. Currently, that crown belongs to the Lamborghini Urus, which will do 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h.

But Lister reckons it could beat those numbers. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 can be fettled to deliver plenty more power, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Lister stripping the F-Pace SVR of some of its weight, either. More power and less weight will obviously equal big speed.

More details as and when we get them.
